December 2015 Message - Give Thanks

In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. - 1 Thessalonians 5 : 18.

Beloved this is no time for grumbling and murmuring but for praise and thanksgiving. To do otherwise is to make the matter worse, this calls for great caution.

Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer. -  1 Corinthians 10 :10

Count your blessings and name them one by one you will see what the Lord has done for you. If He has done these He can do much more.

Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's. - Psalm 103: 1-5.
There is power in giving praises to God which can bring great blessings to us. This includes the following:
1. Thanksgiving invokes God's presence. Whenever God is present sign, wonders and miracles are common occurrences.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever. Psalm 23 : 6, 2 Chronicles 2 : 1-5, Psalm 114 :1-8, Psalm 22:3.
2. Thanksgiving can result into great increase
Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee.O let the nations be glad and sing for joy: for thou shalt judge the people righteously, and govern the nations upon earth. Selah.Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee. Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us.God shall bless us; and all the ends of the earth shall fear him. - Psalm 67: 3-7, Matthew 15: 32-39.
3. Thanksgiving can give life to the dead.
32 Then when Mary was come where Jesus was, and saw him, she fell down at his feet, saying unto him, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.
33 When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews also weeping which came with her, he groaned in the spirit, and was troubled.
34 And said, Where have ye laid him? They said unto him, Lord, come and see.
35 Jesus wept.
36 Then said the Jews, Behold how he loved him!
37 And some of them said, Could not this man, which opened the eyes of the blind, have caused that even this man should not have died?
38 Jesus therefore again groaning in himself cometh to the grave. It was a cave, and a stone lay upon it.
39 Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been dead four days.
40 Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?
41 Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me.
42 And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me.
43 And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth.
44 And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go. - John 11: 32-44
He will fulfill his promises. He has kept us alive since the beginning of this year, if we will wholeheartedly praise Him, He will do much more. Let thanksgiving become an integral part of our prayer, and it will surprise us what the Lord will do. This year will end with thanksgiving for us and our loved ones in Jesus Name .
Shalom!
